Chicken Parmesan Sandwich

Ingredients: 

  • 1 Italian sandwich roll 

  • Marinara sauce 

  • 2 slices of Mozzarella cheese  

  • 1 slice of Provolone cheese  

  • Fresh basil leaves 

  • 3 tablespoons Softened butter 

  • 1 crispy chicken cutlet 

Steps: 

  1. Slice the Italian sandwich rolls horizontally 

  2. Spread the softened butter on cut sides 

  3. Toast buttered bread cut side down in a skillet until golden brown 

  4. Warm marinara in a small saucepan or in microwave until hot 

  5. Spread a thin layer of marinara sauce on the bottom half of each toasted roll 

  6. Place one crispy chicken cutlet on top of the sauce layer  

  7. Top each cutlet with a spoonful of more marinara 

  8. Spread evenly 

  9. Layer 2 slices of mozzarella and 1 slice of provolone cheese over the sauce 

  10. Broil the open-faced sandwiches for 1-2 minutes until cheese is melty and bubbly  

  11. Add fresh basil leaves and a sprinkle of grated parmesan onto the melted cheese 

  12. Close the sandwich with the top half of the roll 

  13. Press gently  

  14. Slice diagonally
