Cheese Steak

Ingredients: 

  • 2 beef ribeye steaks (or top round) 

  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil 

  • ½ teaspoon salt  

  • ½ teaspoon black pepper 

  • 4 hoagie rolls 

  • 1 medium yellow onion  

  • 4 slices provolone cheese 

Steps: 

  1. Slice steaks as thin as possible 

  2. Season steak with salt and pepper 

  3. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium high heat 

  4. Add in sliced onion  

  5. Sauté until soft (5-7 minutes) 

  6. Remove and set aside 

  7. Add slices of steak into the pan in one layer to sear (1-2 minutes) 

  8. Flip and sear the other side 

  9. Use a spatula to chop up the steak 

  10. Add in cooked unions 

  11. Reduce heat to low and top chopped steak with cheese 

  12. Let melt 

  13. Transfer to hoagie roll
